John Bailey was born in Dallas, Texas, where he developed a passion for commercial real estate at an early age. In 2004, while studying business at Northwood University, Mr. Bailey joined Options Real Estate, where he represented investors and tenants on a portfolio of over five million square feet of retail, office, land, and industrial properties. Mr. Bailey went on to join Mohr Partners, a global corporate real estate advisory firm, where he provided corporate real estate portfolio transaction services for clients around the world.

In 2008, during the worst recession since the Great Depression, Mr. Bailey saw an opportunity to provide value to investors and operators and decided to found Allan Bailey Group, LLC. Mr. Bailey has represented real estate investors and operators for over sixteen years across the United States. He has also completed lease transactions on behalf of the GSA for agencies including the FDA, ATF, DEA, SSA, and more. Mr. Bailey believes that his unique combination of private sector capital markets investment experience, combined with his understanding of the GSA lease acquisition process, has positioned him for success within the capital markets and GSA investment space.

In 2019, Mr. Bailey sold a $12 million,155,000 square foot investment asset on behalf of the US. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by way of the Dallas Housing Authority. Shortly after the sale, HUD Secretary Ben Carson visited the site to publicly promote the opportunity zone sale. The sale of the asset was the largest opportunity zone transaction in Dallas since the 2017 tax reform bill was passed. In early 2020, Avery Johnson and John Bailey formed Allan Bailey Johnson Group, LLC.

Mr. Bailey was recently showcased on Shark Tank Grow South, a partnership between Mark Cuban and former Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and The Real Estate Council (TREC). In 2017, Mr. Bailey studied at Babson College. Mr. Bailey is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), as well as a licensed Realtor and member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors, Dallas Regional Chamber’s Southern Sector Task Force, Greater Dallas Planning Council’s Innovative Communities Task Force, and The Real Estate Council (TREC). He is married with a set of 4-year-old twin daughters and a 1-year-old son.
